Wicked new Korean Vampire film on its way!!!

I was speaking with a co-worker this morning about our common love for Asian Horror. We were both reflecting on the psychological chills and scares that Asian Horror does so well. Post this discussion I reflected on my laziness at not tracking down some new Asian Horror films (open to suggestions people!). Low and behold in my RSS feed box when I got home was a note from that fabulous movie site First Showing about a new Korean vampire flick from director Park Chan Wook. His new film is called Thirst and I think the trailer (from YouTube) looks great, chilling and a none too typical take on bloodsuckers, yet a clear tortured protagonist, with scares to boot! First Showing quoted the following synopsis:
“A beloved and devoted priest ( Sang Kang-Ho) from a small town volunteers for a medical experiment which fails and turns him into a vampire. Physical and psychological changes lead to his affair with a wife of his childhood friend who is repressed and tired of her mundane life. The one-time priest falls deeper in despair and depravity. As things turns for worse, he struggles to maintain whats left of his humanity.”
Thanks to First Showing (and YouTube) for the trailer, pity there are no English subtitles, but I think we still get the message! So I am quietly ‘peaking’ about this one, what do others think?

March 18th, 2009 at 5:02 amI just heard about this one myself and it sounds really interesting. I’ve liked what I’ve seen of Park Chan Wook so far so I’m ready for this one!
And you’re right, Asian flicks carry the chills much better.
