Creepy Poster for Thai film 'The Coffin'

Thanks to Horror-Asylum for the heads up about this film. The plot sounds freaky and is apparently based on an actual Thai ritual. The story is described as:

“A Thai architect and a Hong Kong dietitian decide to go through the ritual of lying in a coffin to get rid of bad luck, to prolong life, and to cheat death - only to be faced with a series of strange and terrifying incidents afterwards.”

The poster is very eerie and macabre. Looking forward to seeing this film!

That looks like a movie that’s going into my queue. In the Asian genre, I also like Cello, A Tale of Two Sisters and The Maid. I like ghost movies the most, but usually not enough people die in spectacular ways in them to make for an interesting review. Oh, and Indonesian Sundelbong movies starring Suzzanna are something to see. I’ll watch ‘em without subtitles they are so much fun. A sundelbong translates to “ghost with hole” and is apparently the pissed off result of a dead pregnant woman.

As far as zombies, you need to go back to the Italians late 70s/early 80s. Everyone loves Fulci’s zombie movies (everyone but me; I think they’re overrated.) My favorite is Let Sleeping Dead Lie. The Blind Dead series is also good. But people talk about zombies as much as they talk about pirates, ninjas and robots on the internet.

Zombie movies get money off of young men and so the market is flooded these days with zombie movies for these kids who think they’re nihilists who’d like to see the world end. If you ask me I think zombies have jumped the shark, but vampire novels are quite the thing. I liked your confession in the later post.

Whoa! “Ghost with a hole” full on, must investigate that, different take on the ‘Bloody Mary’ myth? Vampire novels are all the vogue. I thought I’d get slammed for the Anita Blake’s, but they are a good light read, nothing wrong with a bit of raunch before bed I say! If the buzz going around the net is anything to go by, we need to brace ourselves for a pack *wink* of Werewolf material coming our way. Your point re: young men carries with the Wolfy genre too I think.
