True Blood’s Eric Northman, yours to take home!

Greetings and Salutations.

If anyone was wondering what to get yours truly for Christmas… in 2010 then here is the ultimate gift for any True Blood fan. Whilst flicking through my RSS feeds the wonderful crew at Vampire News lead me to this delightful item…

That’s right ladies the folks over at DC Direct are creating a line of True Blood busts for you to sit in your room say on your dresser, bedside table or on the pillow next to you, or is that just me? The series will come out in July 2010, so start saving your pennies as they are a reasonable $69.99 (USD).

Now if only some enterprising ‘Adult Company’ would create a blow up version my life would be complete…

The Vampire Diaries… chomp, chomp, chomp.

Greetings and Salutations.

The chomp, chomp, chomp in the title may become clear to you all as I write this post, as it is the sound of me Ms Harker eating her words… somewhat. You all may recall my initial feelings about the series were expressed in a reasonably venomous way, if not you can check them out here.

Now lets be clear, I am still irked at the two main vamp’s, the Salvatore brothers swanning about in the sunlight due to their special twin bling rings. I still find Elena annoying and her brother an angsty pain in the arse. However the series has taken some reasonable turns for the better and considering the paucity of good (or any) horror TV at the moment, unless you count Sanctuary which is a discussion for another time, as previously stated this is what we are left with.

So the good things. I may have a penchant for bad boys, that being said the actions of the older Salvatore brother Damon have become more evil and cunning. The fact that he looks like a young Rob Lowe also helps his cause. His dealings with the local council when they were trying to sniff out the vampires in their midst were harsh and devious. This story arch was interesting and is still worth pursuing, as we didn’t really get to know (or see in any lovely colonial type flashbacks) how the town was filled with vampires and how the council came to be formed.

Elena’s friend Bonnie discovering her witch-pride was another good move and deserves more attention in the show, however she needs to suck it up and embrace her magic lest she become another whiny bitch on the cast list. Again the story of her family leaving Salem and the role of her Grandmother would be worth exploring in the series further. The initial exposure we got of this with the ghost of Emily was great, however ended to abruptly for my liking.

So, despite my initial grumblings, I am enjoying parts of the show, it looks like there is a new vamp in the mix and we do not yet know if he is of the good or evil persuasion and I feel that Damon has another trump card up his sleeve. Pity its PG fang fun, that’s all I’m saying!

Daybreakers freaky TV Spot… time to milk some humans!

Greetings and Salutations.

Apologies for the gap between posts all, sadly Ms Harker’s brain has been on the fritz lately, I am seriously considering some Bride of Frankenstein electric current-age to solve the problem, but enough about me.

Last night I came across this new TV spot for the Aussie driven vampire flick ‘Daybreakers‘,  thanks to that wonderful source of all things horror Shock Til You Drop. The film does not come out until January 2010, but damn it appears they have some fangtastic design and mythology behind their vamp’s. Despite the mope du jour Ethan Hawke being its lead; let’s hope home town hero Sam Neil saves the day and gets his evil on good and proper.

Check out the TV spot below and get ready for some human milking, its your civic duty!
